Good afternoon, church!   

Sundays are always special at HPC, but they are especially special when we have one of our testimony nights on Sunday evening!  And that is what we had this past Sunday at the church – a great time in His presence in both the morning & evening!

As for the morning service, I continued in our new teaching series on the 23rd Psalm, and we looked at the first “verse” in this psalm that says, “The LORD is my shepherd.”  We learned that the phrases “The LORD is” comes from the Hebrew word Yahweh and “my shepherd” comes from rohi, which is one of the specific covenant names of Yahweh.  So we talked about how learning to “hallow” God’s name is an important first step into the good life God has for us.  It was a really good message and I’d encourage you to listen to !  

The video of the sermon will be posted tonight (Tuesday) on our Facebook page @ 7 PM and also on our new YouTube page as well.  Yes, you heard me right – We have a new YouTube channel, as we just decided to start new & fresh going forward.  So go ahead and subscribe to our new channel and be sure to click the bell icon too.  Here’s the link: New HPC YouTube channel.

I’ll have to wait to attach the High Points notes next week as I have a little more to cover from the first phrase in this Psalm – The LORD is my Shepherd – this coming Sunday!  So next week’s notes should cover the first three parts in our series. 

Also concerning this Sunday, on top of digging a little deeper into our Good Shepherd, we have a couple of other things planned:

1.       We will also be observing communion together during the service and I’ve asked Joshua Hale to lead us in that.  So come Sunday prepared to honor the Lord!

2.       This Sunday is our official launch date for the new HPC App.  Emily and others will be available for anyone who needs help getting it put on their device. 

And before I get into what’s on tap for this week, I wanted to let everyone know that I plan to open it up for people to join the church here in a couple of weeks.  I’ve had a handful of people asking about joining recently, so I wanted to mention it on this email for anyone else who might to join them.

So if you believe the LORD has planted you here at High Point and would like to officially become a part of our body, please let me know asap.  Feel free to call me with any questions.

Here’s the schedule for the rest of this week:

1.  The Pastor’s Study live video will be held Wednesday night @ 5:30 this week where we will begin getting set up to study a specific Book of the Bible.  So join me on our Pastor’s Study Facebook group Wednesday night!   

2.   Our Wednesday Evening Prayer / Bible Study group meets every Wednesday @ 7 PM where we study the Book of First Peter and then pray together!  Wednesdays are always a great time so come join us!

3. Healing School meets every Thursday morning @ 10:30 AM in the House of Expectation.  So if you or someone you know is in need of healing from the Lord, come join us!  Get yourself in the environment of healing and watch what the Miracle Worker can do in your life!
